Conflict, militancy, and militarization in the border state of Kashmir has affected thousands of children. Girls are particularly vulnerable in the face of such conflict.
Adhik Kadam, founder of Borderless World Foundation (BWF), has spent the last 20 years saving hundreds of children in the heart of conflict zone in Kashmir. He will share his experience and his journey.
Borderless World Foundation (BWF) today, runs 4 shelter home in Kashmir for 220+ orphan girls giving them a safe shelter, a loving family and modern education.
Adhik has been braving a hostile environment since 1999 when he was just 19 years of age. He has been abducted several times by militants. There has been Fatwas issued against him. Adhik has not only survived but managed to win the trust of all, by his affection and dedicated work.
During the recent floods in Kashmir, he managed to get more than 120 doctors from all over India to provide medical care for more than 300,000 affected people, for more than 5 months.
Recently he launched the first ever fully equipped emergency medical service ambulances in the State.
Not only is Adhik sheltering and educating girls, he in empowering them in the society. In a staunch male dominated society, he set up the first ever ‘business center’ managed completely by women, in heart of Kashmir valley.
