BWF believes in creating livelihood for women in conflict regions
and making them independent and self-sufficient individuals in the
society. We established acentrecalled 'Rah-E-Niswan'to carry out
various business activities for the girls, which includes
The use of sanitary napkins not being pervasive in the region and to make girls better aware about hygiene, BWF started with the production and marketing of 'Happy Choice- sanitary napkins' in the area which is solely run by the girls of the organisation. Moreover, the napkins are highly cost effective and environment friendly. 'Happy Choice' did not only receive recognition by winning the first prize in a business plan competition organised for the entrepreneurs of the Kashmir valley but also was figured among the top 10 plans in the competition organised by CHINAR International and Tata Institute of Social Sciences.
We have trained our girls to work in the computer embroidery unit. The creations put out by the brand 'Design your own', started by our girls are aesthetically very expressive.
BWF has established a separate unit for tailoring and fabric painting for our girls. Bed sheets, pillow covers, Kashmiri suits are just some of the examples of their beautiful creations.
