Empowering Through Knowledge

Enabling higher education and digital learning for children from conflict-affected regions

Education - Key to Independence

Borderless World Foundation believes that education is key to long-term independence and social change

Beyond supporting schooling up to the higher secondary level, BWF enables children from conflict-affected regions of Jammu & Kashmir to pursue higher and professional education outside the Valley.

Students are supported across disciplines including Medicine, Nursing, Engineering, Computer Science, Humanities, Management, Health Administration, and Social Sciences. At present, over 30 girls supported by BWF are pursuing higher education in cities such as Kanyakumari, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Nashik, and Chandigarh.

Digital Access & E-Learning

Bridging the Digital Divide

Frequent disruptions to schooling—exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic—created significant learning gaps for children in Kashmir. To address this, BWF launched an E-Learning Initiative aimed at improving access to digital education and continuity of learning.

With support from Rotary Clubs, e-learning devices were introduced and demonstrated in collaboration with education authorities and deployed in Army Goodwill Schools in remote sectors. The initiative helped strengthen digital learning environments and supported teachers and students during extended school closures.

E-Learning Benefits

  • Improved access to digital education
  • Continuity of learning during disruptions
  • Support for teachers and students
  • Strengthened digital learning environments

Experiential Learning & Exposure

BWF complements formal education with educational exposure and cultural learning opportunities that broaden perspectives and support holistic development. Educational visits and immersion programmes have enabled students to explore educational institutions, workplaces, cultural landmarks, and public spaces in cities such as Srinagar, Pune, and Mumbai.

These experiences encourage confidence, independence, and awareness helping students engage with the world beyond their immediate context and imagine wider possibilities for their future.

Bilqeesa Jan

Bilqeesa Jan

It's Bilqeesa Jan here, a very proud student of Borderless World Foundation since 2009. It has been 15 years that Borderless took care of me including my studies, shelter, health, food and so on. I am basically from Kashmir and my native place is Verinag, Anantnag. There are the four branches of Borderless World Foundation in Kashmir only, and I am from Anantnag home. Currently I am doing the software engineering course at Navgurukul, Pune.

I still remember, we had a loving staff there who always supported us in every manner. From my 5th standard I got to know the knowledge of computers which would have not been possible, if I were at my respective home. Three years back the whole world was going through the pandemic and as everyone know nobody was able to go out of their homes in that case we got a lot of help from computers that used to have in our hostel, I used to study online and give the online classes which were very necessary for my class plus for my carrier and because of all these facilities I got 85% in my 10th standard.

I can never forget the efforts of Borderless which they put on us in building our carrier and always guiding us to the right path. It means a lot so thank you so much to Adhik bhaiya and to every supporter who are supporting us and giving us the bright future. Will certainly make you proud Inshallah.

"With the great support of Adhik Bhaiya and Borderless World Foundation, I was able to complete my 5.5-year BHMS course and become a doctor."

My name is Sarvar Jan. I was only 3 years old when my mother passed away, which made it difficult for my father to raise me since he was also unwell. Due to their financial constraints, my parents were unable to cover the costs of my education. My family's condition was not optimal, so my grandfather sent me to a Social Welfare Trust, but they were not used to upbringing of young children there. So, Adhik bhaiya brought me to Borderless World Foundation in year of 2002. Where my life changed forever and I began to dream bigger and strive for greater things.

Ever since I was child, I had always dreamed of becoming Doctor. After completing my 12th grade, I was fortunate enough to get an opportunity to do my BHMS course Motiwala National Homoeopathic Medical College. My goal is open to a Homoeopathic clinic in Kashmir and continue practicing there, and I know that this will be possible only with the support of BWF. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the Adhik bhaiya and entire BWF team for making my all dreams come true.

"Today I'm in Navgurukul studying software coding which could only be possible because of BWF"

I am Aanista Malik, from Anantnag, Kashmir. I'm a student of Borderless World Foundation since 2009. I came here when I was 5 years old. BWF gave me everything that I needed. Today whatever I am, it's only because of BWF. The organisation not only gave me education but supported me financially from time to time and still does so. I completed my 11th and today I'm in Navgurukul studying software coding which could only be possible because of BWF.

In our Anantnag home, which is situated in a very remote area, the digital facilities were developed which helped us a lot. I got to know about computers and started working with it since I was 8 years old and it is only because of BWF efforts. In Kashmir we face lot of problems for offline classes during frequent closure of schools but because of computer facilities, our studies are not hampered now. I would like to thank Adhik bhaiya and every member of Borderless World Foundation for supporting me in every situation.
